Laurium Village has hired Ian Lewis

Laurium Village has hired Ian Lewis, J.D., MPA, as the Village Manager effective January 16. In this role, Lewis will be responsible for various functions of the Village including serving as the chief financial and administrative officer. As manager, Lewis will work closely with the Village Clerk, Village Treasurer, Police, Fire and the Department of Public Works.
Lewis is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in May of 2022.
“I’m looking forward to meeting and building relationships with members of the community,” said Lewis.
Lewis’ previous work experience includes drafting proposed ordinances for municipalities and educating residents on their rights, and their communities’ local ordinances.
Lewis looks forward to assuming his new role with the Village and to provide the best service to the community and residents.
